Around the world.

No, I haven't been around the world. Even tho its been a while since I've posted something.
I was cleaning ( whohooooo, at last!!) and I began lookin at the stuff i surround my self with.
Since I was a little girl I've been facinated by clothing and other things from Asia.
We always wore , in the summertime, shoes called china shoes. They had plastic soles and black cotton fabric on top. The top looked like Vans shoes but the sole wasn't the same.
Really cheap shoes that all parents could afford for their kids. And many got new ones for christmas, me too:)

Some time ago I saw these beautiful dolls in another blog ( witch I can't remember whos it was): And I was smittend! I wanted those dolls.
And guess what?! I found them I Lillesand, my neighbourhood-town. And I bought 2. So I could allmoust say that I'm a collector, hehe.
And this beautiful Matryoska-piggybank I got for Christmas from a friend of mine. Now I'll have to start to sve money so she won't starve to death:)

I've been barbecuing some beads. This is from my first grilling session. The electrisity is SOOOOOOOOO expencive in this "best country in the world to live in" that even tho you save and save and are so careful about what you do, you still end up with a bill for many thousends. I can just say that my bill was more than 50% of my monthly sallory!

I've allso been experimenting with yarn coloring. This I colored with Kool aid. The yarn i superwash 100% wool and I'm going to use it for mittens I think.
This is a leftover yarn from the Nøstebarndress I knitted before christmas. O overdied it with a darker purple and a berryred color. It's going to be fun to se how it will turn out in a knitted garment.

Well now my brake from cleaning is over and I must continue ( oh joy!)Next room to attack is my, uhumm, beading, sewing ,jewelry making, yarn stashing heaven . (Well that was the plan with the room, but I think a mean little santas helper must have thrown a bomb in there!)
So call for help if this takes a while!

Finally an update from me.

It was about time to update here. I've been quite busy lately with a new job, school starting for my boys and real life.
In between I've taken a few moments for my self and relaxing with my knitting.
This is my favorite jacket knitted in Sterk, alpackablend. It's really a sock yarn but it is oh, so soft and the jacket is so good to wear. And i really like the colors together.
This shawl is knittet early this sommer and I forgot all about it. I can't even remember the name of the yarn.
But the pattern is travelling woman by Liz Abinante.

It was an easy knit and I think I maybe will knit this again sometime.

These socks are all knittet on my sommervacation . The yarn is all leftovers from my colorfull jacket. The sizes are ca 30-34 in eouropeean sizes.

Also some leftover knitting.
Fingerless mittens by Jessica Jensen
in Sterk.

A jacket (allmost) for my son in doble plötulopi. The pattern is a free pattern only available in Icelandic.

This sweater is also knittet for my son in one ply plötulopi.
It seems like I'm getting ready for the coldest winter ever, but the fact is that my boy is probably not going to wear any of this. But a mother can hope...........c",)
Now I'm knitting a dress for my self. And the progress is good. But now I'm waiting for my hubby and oldest son to get home from church. And then we are going canooing .:)

This and that.

I know I'm not the one that updates often. So just bear with me when I update:)
I've startet attending the local painters club again. I haven't been there for over one year because of night school.
This is just a little color sketch. I just getting the feel of things again.

I wantet to show the wool longs I knitted during christmas. It has been so cold here that my youngest needed thick wool longs to wear in kindergarten, under his snowsuits.

Just some socks I knittet for my partner. Skeive sokker av ToneM
He liked them alot. they fit well and are quite thick. Knittet with Rubin Garn from Sparkjøp on 3,5 mm needles
An of course mom needs a new pair too:) Bluberrywaffel socks by Sandy Turner. Also knittet on dpn 3,5 needles , Rubingarn from Sparkjøp.

These are watchmonsters. They watch over small kids whwn they are asleep and make sure that nothing bad happens. These belong to my youngest who has been complaining every night for a while about him beeing afraid. Now that is all fixed. And guess what??? They are called Mike and Sully, or as he calles them in norwegian/icelandic: Maggi og Sølle.
I guess they don't just wach over little kids but all small creatures who are asleep:

This is Cooper, our blask berkshire rat. He is so trusting of our oldest son that he sleeps at times on his back in a ball of yarn. (Even the rat gets something good from moms yarnstash;))

Ski-weekend

Here in Norway they say that people are born with skies on ther feet , but since we are Icelandic so that doesn't apply for us:) When our oldest was younger we bought skies for him, but he never got the hang of it, and liked snowboard better. . And I............ Well I've never been skiing.
But miracles do happen, haha.
Last saturday we bought skies for our youngest, and here he is so proud of his crossoverskies.

And since we had skies lying around since our oldest was trying to ski, I put them on and.......................... went skiing ( or stumbled around should I say).
This was really nice and I think I will do this more often.
My little one thought it was quite nice that we were on the same level, lol.
Look at us here, all caught up in our outing:D
But all wasn't great. He was complaining about cold hands and wantet to go inside again. When we went in again, I felt his hands and they were freezing. Fleecemittens are no good in cold weather, and I knittet him a new pair.

That same afternoon he became sick. High fever, and feeling poorly. His is still sick and but has tried on his new mittens.
This is a Multnomah ( a Ravelry link) sjawl I finished knitting for my mum. I hope you like it mum xxxxx.
It is quite long from end to end. Over 2 m. (about 7",I think). Its knittet with Online sockyarn on 4,5 mm needles.
